Description of the methods/ approach and/or theories used The Digital Competence Wheel is theoretically based on a major EU research project, DIGCOMP, deriving from the European Parliament’s inclusion of digital competence, as one of the eight core competences for lifelong learning. 8. Purpose/Aim The purpose of the Digital Competence Wheel is to support the development of digital competences. It provides an overview of the digital competences and which ones need to be improved, as well as concrete inspiration for how to improve the most relevant digital competences. This way, it can be used both for guidance and self-evaluation of school staff’s digital competences 9.
